East Ayton Lodge was originally built in early 1800’s as a country manor house. In1928 Lady Marjorie Nunburneholme, (The granddaughter of the first Duke of Wellington) moved from Hunmanby Hall into the Lodge. When her son Pilot Officer David Wilson was killed flying over France in 1941, she gifted the Lodge to Scarborough Hospital who used it as a hospital for children.

In August 1980 The Lodge was sold and originally opened with three bedrooms and 80 seater restaurant.

Set in the attractive, rural village of East Ayton in the North Yorkshire National Park, there are so many fantastic walks on the doorstep, not to mention the wonderful seaside resorts of Scarborough, Whitby and Filey.
Also, the lovely village of Pickering and Dalby forest for those that love walking and biking.
There are many great places to go and wonderful places to visit, and all within a very short distance of The Lodge.
