Terms & Conditions

- EAST AYTON LODGE HOTEL -

Bookings:

All offers of accommodation and services featured on our website are subject to availability and we reserve the right to refuse any booking.

Occupancy:

The maximum room occupancy is two adults. Family rooms (where available) can accommodate two adults and two children (under the age of 16). You must not exceed the maximum occupancy for the room allocated to you. We reserve the right to conduct checks on occupancy. Occupancy is not transferable.

Children under 16 are not permitted to stay at East Ayton Lodge hotel unless a parent or guardian is also staying in the hotel.

We reserve the right to request valid photographic proof of identity and age, so please bring this with you otherwise, where requested you may not be permitted to stay.

Dogs:

Well mannered dogs are welcome to the stay at the hotel, by pre-arrangement and must be mentioned when booking to allocate the right room. A charge of £10.00 per night is applicable (service dogs are accommodated free of charge).

Guests with limited mobility:

Regrettably we not have a lift, however, we do have a number of rooms situated in our courtyard ground floor with adapted bathrooms.

Paying for your room:

If you have not paid for your room and any extras added to your booking in full at the time you make your booking, you will need to pay on arrival.

Payment may be made by cash (with proof of identification) or credit/debit card. The expiry date of your debit/credit card must be later than the end of your stay. We do not accept personal cheques.

Cancellation:

A £50.00 deposit (per person) will be taken when booking your room. Deposits are Non- refundable in any event but if a cancellation is received within 72 hours of original arrival your dates may be altered upon written request.

You may wish to take out room cancellation insurance in case you need to cancel your reservation.

You are not entitled to cancel or withdraw from your booking under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

Our right to cancel:

We may cancel your reservation at any time with immediate effect by giving you written notice (which includes email) if:

you do not pay us when you are required to do so, or you break the contract between us in any way.

We may cancel your reservation if an event outside of our control (including industrial action, explosion, outbreak of disease, health and safety issues, fire, flooding, and failure of power and/or water supplies or emergency evacuation) means that we are unable to make your room available to you.

In this case, we will contact you to let you know as soon as possible and if you have already paid for your room, we will refund your payment to you,

or, if you have not yet paid for your room, you will not have to make any payment to us.

Save as set out above, we will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations that is caused by an event outside of our control.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

Arrival & Departure:

Rooms are available from 3pm on the arrival date. Please let the Hotel know if you are likely to arrive after 9pm.

Rooms must be vacated by 10.30am on the day of departure. Failure to leave your room by this time may result in a late check-out charge.

We have free on-site parking. All cars left on site are at the owner’s own risk and the management cannot accept any responsibility.

Smoking:

Smoking and vaping is prohibited anywhere inside the premises. This includes the smoking of e-cigarettes. Smoking or Vaping in the premises will result in a £100 fine.

Inappropriate behaviour:

It is the hotels policy that all our guests are treated with respect and dignity and we believe we have a duty to protect our guests from inappropriate behaviour. Should behaviour by a guest or guests be deemed inappropriate the hotel reserves the right to take action against the guest, including (in certain cases) asking the police to become involved (at the discretion of the hotel) or asking guests to leave.

Tampering with Fire Alarms or emergency Equipment:

We reserve the right to take action against any guest found tampering or interfering with any fire or emergency equipment. Guests found to have tampered with any emergency or fire equipment will be charged any costs incurred by the hotel due to their actions and may be asked to leave the hotel. In certain cases, we may ask the Police to become involved (at our discretion). Should the fact that the said equipment had been tampered with come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to charge the guests credit/debit card or send an invoice for the amount to the registered address.

Damage to hotel property:

We reserve the right to charge any guest(s) for any damage or loss of any kind to the hotel caused by deliberate, negligent or reckless behaviour. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to charge to the guest’s credit/debit card or send an invoice for the amount to the registered address

We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. The terms and conditions applying to your booking will be those in place on the date you make your booking.

Lost/ Left Property:

We will endeavour to contact any guest that has left items or property in or at the Hotel. We do not accept any liability and any items not claimed and removed within 7 days may be disposed of (at no cost and no liability) to a local charity.
